Arrival Support

Dear Volunteers, Karibu sana to Uganda! We are excited to welcome you at Entebbe International Airport (EBB). Our official HVU Meet & Greet team of three, led by Ponny Bukenya, will be waiting for you at arrivals.

We will:

• Meet you at arrivals with your name

• Help with your luggage

• Provide safe transport from EBB to Kassanda District

• Support you with a SIM card, water, and a brief welcome briefing

• Ensure you are not alone from the moment you land

Volunteer Orientation
You will learn about:

• HVU and our programs supporting vulnerable children and women

• Camp Angelina

• Ugandan culture and how to live well in the village

• Your safety, health guidance, roles, and schedules

What volunteers can do

Volunteer with HVU in Uganda
HVU is a non-profit, community-based volunteer organization in Kassanda District, Uganda. We implement community projects and host international volunteers.

We are not a profit-making charity. Volunteers only contribute towards their meals, airport pick-up and return, and local transport to project sites.

We welcome both skilled and unskilled volunteers in:

• Teaching in primary schools

• Medical field support and HIV/AIDS clinics

• Supporting vulnerable children and women households

• Office administration and Camp Angelina girls support

• Students on practicum/internship placements

Volunteer experience & support
We are flexible and can organize refreshment tours at the end of the volunteer period. At the end of the volunteer period, all volunteers receive a Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of their service and contribution.
